HIRAM, Ohio ? ?Campus officials say a small college in northeast Ohio has been evacuated because of a bomb threat.
Hiram (HY'-rehm) College posted a statement on its website saying it received a bomb threat Friday afternoon and is taking the threat seriously.
The school says safety teams with bomb-sniffing dogs are checking all campus buildings. Students with no other place to go are being directed to the local fire department.
Bomb threats caused evacuations Friday at campuses in Texas and North Dakota.
Hiram College's campus is located in Hiram, about 35 miles southeast of Cleveland.
Police confirm the college's evacuation but decline to provide additional information. Firefighters are advising people to avoid the area.
The college's website says more than 1,300 undergraduate students are enrolled there.
